The innocent gurus

For my next post on Parentous , I came up with this topic "Infinite Infant wisdom". I just started to write how kids are more intelligent than adults and I ended with a whole list of surprising ten points. By the end of my writing streak, I realized how much enlightened I am, all because of my daughter. Here is a short snippet from the article: It is an interesting topic. Please visit the page here , if you want to know how you can learn from infants :)

I started my blog in 2007. It is almost like a manifestation of my soul for me. It has given me the biggest gift of my life- my husband. He decided to marry me after reading my thoughts here. But there was a problem. I was unable to share it with people and this highly demotivated me. Hence, there were long intervals between my consecutive posts.  As I entered marital bliss and subsequently motherhood, I could sense that still something was missing. Although, I had many tasks in hand at a time- I have a toddler to take care of, a decent IT job to perform but the urge to understand the higher purpose of my life grew. I started writing actively again but being poor in networking with people my dear blog was still lying unknown in the vast virtual space. As Thomas Gray has put: Full many a gem of purest ray serene The dark unfathom'd caves of ocean bear: Full many a flower is born to blush unseen, And waste its sweetness on the desert air. Still, my frustrations wer...

Mirror on the wall! - Short Story

Image
He was my rival in my world as he owned everything that I ever dreamed of. We both started at same level. But his ways to get to things were shrewder than mine. Or I was much naïve, as I thought, at that time. But he didn’t have one thing that I possessed- a boon by the sorcerous powers- a mirror that could warn me about any immediate foe. And so I knew about him from the beginning before even knowing him.

A real woman or a GentleWoman or a woman of steel as I like to call, always carries the virtue of compassion, irrespective of the heights she achieves. My friend, an HR in a private firm, was criticized by her boss when she suggested celebrating Women's day in her office. The irony is that her boss happens to be a woman, who believes that in today's time both gender are equally thriving so there is no need for a special day for women. It is sad that such successful women in their arrogance have lost the very essence of womanhood - empathy. These women are so blinded in the glory of their own accomplishments, living in some imaginary utopian society that they fail to acknowledge that they are more of an exception. On one hand we have so many success stories but on the other there are numerous women who are still alien to the concept of 'free will'. I am not a feminist but I breathe in a woman's body. My various experiences with several women in our society ...

Musical Miracles

Image
It is a well-known fact that you don't need to be a great singer or dancer to appreciate music. So, as a patron of music I have come to realize that some songs are powerful to the extent that they can touch our spiritual side. People who have started following my writings might have noticed that after some regular updates to Soulful, I did not write. I should be honest. I am not a writer. I just write because it simply makes me happy. My mind often goes blank as what to write. And once again recently, it went totally blank! I badly wanted to write but couldn’t. Frustration mounts with each passing day. After a week or two of writing drought, my creative side completely goes into coma. So, today while still in the coma phase, I pulled my earplugs and played a new song. I listened to it once, then twice, then again and again and I must say it was doing magic. The fact that this has happened with me for many beautiful songs many times before prompted me to write about it. ...

Movies my choice

Here's a list of some movies that are not blockbusters or very famous but still surprised me with their creativity. So, if you are not finding a good movie to watch this weekend then have a look here. I have provided their IMDB links: INK- (2009) The first time we started this movie, we closed it within 15 minutes of watching thinking it as boring art stuff being a low budget movie. Next time we just went ahead as we had nothing to watch on a weekend and the only thing which was in our mind after it finished was-"Who gets such amazing ideas!"  Sad, it never got released in theaters. Don't go by the ratings, Ink deserves maximum. Genre: Fantasy MOON- (2009) Moon proved that a good movie does not need tankful of money and lavish sets nor a big name actor. The storyline, acting and the direction simply bowl over anyone. No doubt, it inspired the-not-so-good Tom cruise starrer Oblivion.   Genre: Sci-fi, Drama SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WO...
